DUTIES
A Project Engineer works closely with a Project Manager to manage day to day tasks necessary to complete projects on time and budget. Communication with the PM, clients, and regulatory agencies shall occur regularly. Duties will typically include overseeing the technical design aspects of projects, reviewing designer level work and improving the technical abilities of younger staff. Through this position, a successful candidate will build their technical experience, professional network and managerial skills where they will have the opportunity to continue on a technical or managerial track within the department and company.

 Coordinate day-to-day tasks to meet project scope objectives.
 Multi-task on several projects at one time, applying appropriate effort to each.
 Coordinate design tasks between departments for multi-discipline projects.
 Perform detailed design and coordinate design elements among project team.
 Perform simple to complex calculations for project design and permitting.
 Prepare site investigation, analyses, and technical reports.
 Review and summarize local, state, and federal regulations to determine project constraints.
 Prepare accurate contract documents for publicly bid projects consisting of plan drawings, design computations, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
 Prepare complete and accurate permit application packages.
 Prepare clear and concise written correspondence for internal and external circulation.
 Apply and participate in LDG standard QA/QC procedures.
 Seal work, if licensed, according to state licensure procedures.
 Recognize opportunities for new projects and assist PM's with developing leads into new business.
 Prepare scope of services and fee proposals to successfully secure projects.
 Develop network of professional contacts through involvement in thought leadership, civic, and technical organizations.
 Mentor junior staff members and assist with general training efforts of employees.
 Proficient use of AutoCAD Civil 3D
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. Degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering or Water Resources.
Professional Engineer licensure
5+ years experience in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
Ability to perform design calculations using engineering formulas and methods.
Ability to review documents and prepare cost estimates.
Research codes and design guidelines and write reports.
Ability to manage multiple clients, tasks, and schedule commitments is critical.
Experience with NY regulatory agency requirements and permitting.
