Replacing the Foscam FIxxxxW, the FIxxxxW is the latest camera from Foscam Digital Technologies LLC. The FIxxxxW is superior in that it includes an embedded IR-Cut filter which dramatically enhances the picture and color quality by automatically adjusting the lighting exposure via mechanical filter to provide true and accurately colored images that are not washed out. If you previously used a FIxxxxW you will notice how green colors appear a washed out almost brown or dull gray color. The IR-Cut filter on the new FIxxxxW eliminates this problem. In addition, previous cameras would not automatically adjust the brightness correctly and require the user to manually change the brightness settings. This problem has been fixed as well.
The FIxxxxW also has a studier external housing. It feels much more solid and professional than the FIxxxxW while maintaining its compact and self-contained design.
